When Past Meets Future – Solar Slate on a Heritage Home in Elverum
In the heart of Elverum stands a home with history in its walls. A house that carries tradition, style, and the pride of craftsmanship from another era. When the roof needed renewal, it was essential to find a solution that preserved the original character – while meeting today’s demand for renewable energy.
The choice fell on solar slate. The elegant slate tiles blend seamlessly with the home’s architecture, while producing electricity for the family living there. The result is a roof that looks just like slate always has – but hides a future energy source in every single tile.
The project was realized in collaboration with RS Bygg in Elverum, Minel Elverum, and Rena Blikk. Together, we created a unified design where old and new meet – seamlessly and naturally.
This home in Elverum is living proof that even heritage-protected houses can step into the future without losing their soul.
